Kaley Cuoco Gave Her Emmys Dress a Massive Chop Before the Red Carpet

Kaley Cuoco tried out the Barbiecore trend on the Emmys red carpet, and she wasn't afraid to mix fashion packs for the special occasion. On Sept. 12, the "Flight Attendant" star arrived in a pink tulle high-low dress. The bodice of the gown, which featured a plunging neckline, was adorned in tulle roses and carnations in various shades of pink that trickled onto her skirt and back down the dress's voluminous train. With her boyfriend Tom Pelphrey at her side, Cuoco happily posed like a Barbie fresh out of the limited-edition award-show box.

"Dreamiest bubblegum punk rock ballerina dress," she captioned photos of the ensemble on Instagram, showing off the tutu miniskirt. Cuoco's glam squad included stylist Brad Goreski, stylist Daniela Viviana Romero, makeup artist Jamie Greenberg, and hairstylist Christine Symonds, who kept the dreamy look going with a whimsical looped ponytail.

Cuoco styled the ballerina-esque outfit with a crystal-embellished clutch, Stuart Weitzman heeled sandals in silver, and Boucheron jewelry, including drop earrings that culminated in massive pink gemstones. After the main carpet, the actor swapped her heels for a pair of white sneakers, adding a touch of casual flare to the glam ensemble.

"They literally cut that dress before I walked out."

In an interview on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Sept. 20, Cuoco revealed that her pink-tutu moment almost didn't happen. "It was all long. No leg," she said of the dress, which was originally a full-length gown all around. "They literally cut that dress before I walked out," she continued. "That was a full gown. . . . Can you imagine the insanity of doing that before I walked out?" While the ballerina moment wasn't planned, this is one last-minute wardrobe alteration that was worth breaking out the scissors for.

The "Meet Cute" star wasn't the only celebrity who brought her style A game on Monday. Other celebrities who made grand entrances on the red carpet included Zendaya in a classic ballgown silhouette by Valentino, Lizzo in a red tulle ballgown from Giambattista Valli's spring 2022 couture collection, Julia Garner in a velvet Gucci dress with a diamond-shape midriff cutout, Andrew Garfield in a white-hot Zegna suit, and more.
